Brain Balancing Exercises For Autism, ADD, ADHD,

This morning I found a video playlist on youtube,com about brain balancing exercises for children labeled with learning disabilities. I have two members of my family who can benefit from this information. Our schools and parents could benefit from this information. People who learn these methods can step forward and help others with this information.

The playlist I have below has exercises that retrain the brain to connect right and left hemispheres. Many benefits can come from doing these like being able to feel calm, longer attention span, better communication skills, better reading and comprehension, spelling and writing ability as well as improved immune function, co-ordination, well-being and more.


 Exercising the brain takes repetition to train and rewire how the brain works but these are fun and the time spent with your kids is so worth it. 3 times a week so the brain can rest.

12 Steps ~ AA Part 2

Entering into the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous or any 12 Step program:
 The experience was like walking into a different realm. From the chaos of dealing with drinking and drugging to a well organized program. There is a secretary, a treasurer, a coffee maker, principles, steps and sharing, even a Big Blue Book to have for reference and study. A peer group materializes before our eyes. Once we were alone and now we are among others 100, 1.000, or more who understand and support us.


 It is the beginning of great transformation There are endless possibilities. It is all up to each individual to choose which path to take. While attending meetings, participants are asked to identify as an alcoholic before they share.



My Name is __________ and I am an alcoholic.



 Some Scenarios that may occur in the 12 Step Program:
  • Some people may slip into their original pattern for many reasons but the reason may be because it feels better, more familiar and provides relief. Change can be frightening and stressful.
  • Others remain in the 12 Step Programs because they continue to receive the benefits and support they desire or benefit greatly from helping others. 
  • Some people believe they will always, in All Ways, forever be an Alcoholic and attend because they are afraid if they do not go they will go back to drinking.  
  • Some people have a calling to explore the spiritual aspects of their being  More about that in 12 Steps the Awakening Part 3. 

Some Benefits of 12 Step programs: These are not in a particular order. And there are  many more benefits I have only mentioned a few here.


  • It does feel wonderful to have support through the members and sponsors
  • It feels wonderful to be a part of a group and witness first hand people who have overcome or managed their challenges.
  • What is shared in the room stays in the room usually
  • Gradually awareness emerges in different stages. The fog of denial is lifted as per individual perception and beliefs.
  • It is wonderful to have some structure and a solution
  • How wonderful to learn responsibility, to be of service
  • Feeling the love of giving by placing $1 in the donation basket ( optional)
  • Aspire towards helping others by attraction not promotion (being the change we would like to have for others)
  • Feeling relief to have our mind diverted and to practice new ways of living.

For the first time I felt peace.

It was a Sunday meeting at a Gazebo outside a hospital, which had someone read the St Francis prayer and after the reading the room would go silent for 5 minutes. This 5 minutes of silence seemed impossible to get through at first. 

Regularly attending this meeting helped me overcome the fear of being still. I grew to love the St. Frances prayer and the peace of mind that 5 minutes of silence had given me. I learned the prayer by heart and was often asked to recite it from memory. In a room full of people who suffered from confusion, including me, this was a miracle. 

After many such meetings at the Gazebo, I had an opportunity to attend a 12 Step meditation on Sunset Beach far away from my home group. This turned out to be a very enriching experience which allowed me to sit quietly for 20 minutes. I actually experienced a dropping down feeling which almost sent me onto the floor. I found out later while sharing my experience with meditating during the meeting, that this was my body relaxing or letting go of yet another layer of stress or sinking deeper into relaxation. 


I eventually found a meditation class near my home at the Hsi Lai Temple in Hacienda Heights, California.

Deborah's Little Gems

 The first formal steps I took  out of my chaotic life were the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. Going back 31 years, at age 39, I took my first steps to freedom. I found my way to the meeting through a hospital program in which my former husband was attending. It was part of a hospital chemical dependency program commitment. I attended the CDC Program to support my alcoholic husband. He had promised to get help after I left the home after a spiritual realization I had one day. 




The 12 Steps are worded in a language from the 1930's  The more you read the Big Book and practice its teachings in your life, the more you come to understand it. Worried About Someone's Drug Or Drinking Problem?

Those of us affected by an alcoholic or a drug user can suffer. We can worry on how to help our loved one recover. We may be thinking, " If they could just stop using or drinking everything would be okay. We may lie awake at night figuring out how to cure them of this disease or make everything easy for them, so they do not get upset or abusive. We may even resent them and fill our days with a victim mentality. 

We have heard all their excuses and some of us believe them even after multiple episodes of * “falling off the wagon". We so desperately want to believe them and feel sorry for them that it is easy to believe their promises. We hope and wish and pray they would be normal as our lives would be so much easier. 
*The phrase "back on the wagon" refers to one who quits drinking and hops on the band wagon, with a positive spirit. In other words one who is happy not to drink. Relapsing into alcoholism is often sudden and unintentional, hence the description of "falling off the wagon".

Friends or family members may be
  •  enabling this person by handling their responsibilities 
  • We may lie to cover up what is going on in the home
  •  We may allow them to overstep their boundaries with us. 
  • We may even depend on them so much for our livelyhood, health insurance, house payments, companionship that we put up with the cycle of abuse.

There is hope. Family and friends of a drug or alcohol abuser can attend Al-Anon meetings. You not only learn more about how you can help yourself and the abuser, you will find you are not alone.

Praying for Rain Technique

Praying For Rain Technique





Imagine your prayer or desire happening in the present moment in living color. This is a powerful practice. I am making myself a special journal to record my prayers and desires as if they have already been answered.



For example,  I heard a beautiful story told by Gregg Braden. He received a call from his Native American friend. His friend asked him if he would like to go out into the desert to visit a place his ancestors had built. He was going there to pray for rain. This was during one of the longest droughts recorded in the Southwest. They traveled out into the desert until his friend found the site. Instead of praying for rain his friend imagined the rain, he smelled the rain, he felt his naked feet in the mud and saw the rain running down the roofs of his pueblo. The Spaghetti Squash Gift-The Recipe and The Manifestation

The spaghetti squash gift. 




Even though your desires seem to go unnoticed by the universe, enjoy your life anyway just the way it is. Faith, surrender, and gratitude, those desires will manifest in ways you never imagined.


I love spaghetti squash. Here is how I fix it
  1. Preheat oven to 375
  2. Lightly oil a baking sheet
  3. Cut squash in half from stem to blossom end (lengthwise) and soup out seeds and pulp
  4.  Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper
  5. Place cut side down on the prepared baking dish
  6. Bake for 35-50 minutes ovens temps vary. I do 50 minutes because I am high in altitude.

Spaghetti squash grows really well in my clay soil. Each plant  I grew had 6-7 nice yellow spaghetti squashes. Last year the squash bug got my crop of pumpkins so I opted not to grow any kind of squash this year. While shopping at a local nursery in late spring, I was attracted to a beautiful banana squash plant  in a small pot. I bought it and planted out back away from the garden hoping the squash bug would not see it. The squash bugs came anyway and I had to pick them off one by one and also scrape off the eggs deposited on the backs of the leaves and stems. To my surprise after 3 weeks of picking off the bugs, they stopped visiting. The plant flourished with our nourishing monsoon rains and the daily care I gave them. I loved watching the beautiful bright yellow-orange flowers bloom.

One day in mid September, I noticed a squash forming!  I had visions of baking the squash in warm oven on a chilly fall day. 
A few days later I happened to notice the baby squash was 
eaten by a lucky critter, probably a squirrel or a skunk. But I still had faith it would grow nicely in spite of the eaten squashes. 

Early October, before any more fruits developed, Jack Frost came and waved his frozen wand over all the plants here in Utah. The Squash plants withered and sunk into the earth. It would seem that all my inspired action had turned into failure. But,  I had crops frozen before so I took it in stride. I let it go. I still loved eating squash and still had the vision of baking it in the warm oven on a chilly fall day.

A few days after the frost my husband went to get hay for our animals and brought me a spaghetti squash! I was so delighted. The man who sells us hay had shared his crop with us. A week later, we went to buy 4 more big bales for winter. The man said, " Go to the back of my truck and get yourself a few squashes" I went back to his truck bed and it was filled with beautifully formed spaghetti squashes. I chose two. So now I have 3 spaghetti squashes! I was so grateful and delighted that in spite of my dilemma with the squash bugs, the hungry critters, and the frost, I indeed received the squashes I had desired. Woo hoo ! Thank you universe !

As I sit in my kitchen writing this post, I am preheating my oven on a chilly fall day for delicious roast spaghetti squash. I have chills writing this because I can feel the magic in this process.

So the point is, do not give up your dream or desires. Keep a good attitude. Let go of the how and when. The gifts are revealed to you in ways you could not imagine.

A good tip is, the things we need do not manifest as quickly as the things we desire. So hold the desire as long as it makes you smile and let go of the need. Have faith and learn to love your life and appreciate the many miracles around you now.

Try This Easy Experiment: Prove The Power Of Imagination












TRY THIS EXPERIMENT

The world is really what you think it is. Try this experiment. It shows us how imagination can change things
1. Take a deep breath and relax where you are.
2. Keeping your body straight, now turn your head to the right as far as you can and note what you can see at the end of the turn.
3. Bring your head back to the front.
4. Now close your eyes and imagine that you are an owl and that makes it easy to move your head all the way around to face backwards if you want to. Keep facing forward and just imagine your head turning around like that.
5. Open your eyes and gently and carefully turn your head to the right as far as you can.
6. Did you see farther that you did before?

What do you think you can use your imagination on now to change or transform or create your life?

Home Computer: Sitting All Day?

Be creative. You can use boxes, counters,
even a laundry basket or book shelf.





SITTING ALL DAY ? If you are on the computer a lot, sitting can really do a number on your body. It is easy for time to sweep by and realize you've been sitting for 3 hours or more.


There are a few things you can do to improve your circulation, strengthen your muscles, lubricate your joints and align your skeletal structure while you are on the computer.
  1. Set a timer and take breaks every hour and walking around or do a task around the home, go outdoors and stretch, Breathe in some fresh air. This is a great solution.
  2. Part of the day, prop your computer up at a comfortable level so you can work without stooping.. . You can see I used my laundry basket on my stove. Maybe you have a shelf or bookcase you can use that is the right height. You can also use a carboard box. Get creative.
  3. Get a Ball Chair
Tips for standing at the computer:
  • At the computer I stand with feet shoulder width apart. My pelvis is relaxed and tucked forward so as not to sway the lower back. Ever so often I shift my weight to the right leg and then to the left leg then center my weight between my feet. This strengthens your legs, circulates the blood and keeps the energy flowing.
  • While you are experiencing down time or waiting for downloading, uploading, listening to videos, you can do some other tasks around the home. It is easier to move right into a task if your standing already.
  • To ease your back prop one foot on a stool or box. change from one foot to the other.

How To Make a Human Rainbow


Love Rainbow Red, orange, yellow, green
blue, purple, violet sparkles
Here is how to open the flood gates of Love that exists at all times, all situations and things. Whether you are attuned to Reiki or not you will benefit from this exercise. 

Benefits are endless but here are a few:

  • Reconciliation with family
  • Re-connection with old friends
  • Increase in financial abundance
  • More opportunities open
  • Epiphanies and synchronity
  • Feeling and looking younger
  • Feeling stronger more energized. 
  • Love eternally flowing through your words, thoughts, eyes and ears. 
  • Wellness and well-being
  • Boost immune function
  • Balance your emotional centers/chakras


 IF THE LOVE IS HERE NOW WHY CAN'T I FEEL IT???

The reason we do not feel this Love is because we are either stressed out, resentful, busy in our head or pissed off at someone or something or afraid of what the future may bring. All of this blocks the Love that is forever flowing and growing in and around ALL OF US.

How To Reconnect to Love

Miracle , epiphanies and those ah ha moments are happening everyday. I have discovered with all my body, mind, and emotions that LOVE is indeed flowing at all times through me and around me and YOU too. Love is available always and eternally for us to utilize, benefit from, and enjoy. Universal Love, God's Love, flows through all situations and all things. It is a Universal Truth. This practice has changed the way I perceive life. 
Follow this simple meditation with light gentle touch.  Savor each part. Release all your worries and allow the depth of this love within you to emerge. By placing the hands lightly you will awaken nerves, tissue, muscle and increase blood flow. you will connect mind and body. In time you will feel deep layers of sensation and relaxation. It will balance your energy centers, give you intuitive clarity and boost your immune function.

During this practice your mind may drift to visions and memories and ideas. Once you are aware you drifted off just return back to your practice. Keep practicing daily. In time you will feel the benefits.

Make a Human Rainbow 

I practice my Reiki before I hop out of bed every morning. I prepare by connecting to the highest realm of Love and Light by gently touching the crown or top of my head until I sense that heavenly place that I think of or sense God, heaven and angels. (See the heart above the head in my painting to the right). Stay there and feel the sensation of this higher realm. It is uplifting.


I lightly touch my forehead or third eye and silently ask to see the Love that exists in all things. Keep sensing this area.

I place my hands over my ears and ask to hear the Love that is forever flowing to me and within me at all times. Think about what love sounds like. Perhaps the wind, the birds, affirmations, acknowledgment etc. Sense the feeling of the connection, the heat, or heartbeat within your ears. 

I cup my hands over my eyes blocking out any light ( not touching my eyes but the bones around my eyes and forehead.)  and ask to see with clarity the seen and unseen, to see the words on the page with clarity and crispness, to see the birds flying in the clouds to see auras and energy. Feel the heat generated by my cupped hands over my eyes. I open my eyes under my cupped hands and ask for my eye lenses to relax. I see black when my eyes are completely relaxed. 

I cup my hands gently over my throat and ask to communicate with this ever flowing river of Love to speak, write and sing with Love and kindness. I support my arms and relax my shoulders to ease these positions. 

I place my hands over my heart and ask to believe in the Love that lives and pulsates at all times. Because I have experienced this eternal love I say, I do.

If you feel any stress in these areas ask your guides or angels to help release them. 

I place my hands over my solar plexus and ask to stomach, or to feel worthy and receive with grace, the Love which is flowing at all times to me and within me. Really feel the sensations in the solar plexus. Ask Archangel Michael to sever the emotional cords with anyone that keeps you from forgiveness or enjoying your life and well-being. 

I place my hands on my lower belly and ask to create with the Love that is forever flowing through me.

I place my hands on the groin area and thigh and ask that I utilize all of Earth, all this physical plane with confidence, feeling supported, feeling  joy and appreciation and a spirit of playfulness.

I connect to the heart in the center of the earth which beats to the rhythm of my own heart. I create a glowing rainbow by bringing the warm red energy of this earth heart up through my feet, into my legs feeling grounded and supported.

I draw the energy up into my hips and navel until it burst brightly with orange. Say silently, I create with LOVE. I see the red and orange glowing together.

I let this energy rise into my solar plexus and it glows brilliant yellow. I say silently, I am worthy of this LOVE and I receive graciously. I see the red, orange and yellow glowing brightly from my body.

I draw this love into my heart. I say I believe in the Eternal flow of love and visualize my heart center glowing bright emerald green. I add this green to the rainbow I am creating. 

The energy flows up into my throat and emanates a crystal blue light. I imagine my communication  to be within the realm of this Loving energy.

I feel the energy of this LOVE flow up into my third eye (forehead) and the energy radiates a divine purple. I see all the Love that flows eternally through all situations and things.I visualize all the colors of the rainbow radiating from my body and mind.


The flow of LOVE brilliantly rises up through my crown radiating violet and divine light and sparkles. I am connected to the Realm of Love and Light.


I am now a radiant rainbow of balanced energy, Love and Light.

I finish this practice with a long stretch reaching out through my fingers and toes. This opens my radiant circuits. 

It took me 4 weeks of daily Reiki practice to learn this and be able to visualize the rainbow of energy beaming outward from these areas. This rainbow of balanced energy attracts beautiful experiences to me and it will for you too.

How to Make A Human Circle of Peace

Today it is the International Day of Peace, September 21, 2016. 

This is a great way to create and celebrate peace.

Where two or more are gathered....

All you need is two people and you can add more people if you have them.

For Two People:

  1. Face each other 
  2. Hold hands out in front of you with palms up to begin.
  3. Leave left palm up and turn right palm down. 
  4. Connect together by placing your right hand over (hovering, not touching) the left palm of the other person so that palms are aligned.
  5. Relax and take some cleansing breaths
  6.  Take time to be silent and feel any sensations
For a Group

  1. Form a circle with arms out to the side, to make a space between each person. You can adjust this space for comfort. See photo below to get an idea. 
  2. Everyone turn left palm up. Be sure to relax shoulders and bend at the elbow for more comfort.
  3. Place right hand over ( hovering over, not touching) the left palm of the person on your left so that your palms are aligned.
  4. Relax and take some cleansing breaths
  5. Take time, in silence, be aware of any sensations 

LEFT HAND RECEIVES RIGHT PALM SENDS

Human Circle of Peace left hand up, right hand down. hands do not touch, palms are aligned. feel the sensation surging from left to right.
