HOW TO BEGIN YOUR MEDITATION

 Place your feet flat on the floor. Let your hands rest in your lap. Relax your shoulders. Notice your breathing. Feel the air flow in then out.  Do not worry if your mind wanders off. This is normal. Just return to noticing your breath. Feel the floor under your feet, feel any sensations in your body like warmth or tingling,  Be patient with yourself. Practice once a day or as often as you are able. With practice you will experience different levels of relaxation and benefits like relief from pain, lower blood pressure, relaxation and better sleep.

A Meditation For Gratitude







The next video focuses on the energy centers of the body. It is a nice introduction to the energy body if you are new to this information. This meditation uses the art of visualization of colors in certain areas of the body. Visualization is not actually seeing the color or object or situation. It is more like remembering your perception of them. For example, think of a red apple. Immediately you can remember what a red apple looks like and you have a picture of it in your mind. Visualization is entertaining to the mind and develops skills that can lend in healing and in creating your perfect life.











THE AMETHYST CRYSTAL CAVE MEDITATION By Deborah Moen

 You may record this meditation while reading it out loud. 

Begin your meditation by breathing in and out slowly and deeply. B
 any tension. Exhale with a deep sigh. Now smile and let that uplifting expression fill your entire being,
Are you relaxed?ecome aware of of your inner body and feel it as one whole energy. Observe the cool air flowing in as you inhale and the warmth as you exhale. Relax your stomach and shoulders. Soften your belly and breathe deep into the bottom of your lungs. Slowly breathe in, gently hold then exhale slowing. Relax.  


Allow me to guide you through to The Amethyst Chamber deep within The Crystal Cave.



Imagine you are at the entrance of the cave. There are many like-minded people gathering here with you. People have the same interests and are really enjoyable to talk to. These people have your best interests at heart and treat you with respect and kindness. You feel comfortable and happy and relaxed. Within you is an energized anticipation and excitement throughout your entire body. You are ready now to enjoy your journey into the Crystal Cave.

Now, take a long tapered purple candle off the iron rack at the entrance to the cave. You will be lighting your candle at the hearth inside the main room.

As you enter the darkness of the main room, you can hear the murmurings of anticipation and the shuffling of feet. Once inside you can see the flames flickering within the hearth.  You light your purple candle and enjoy the glowing light in the dark room. Notice the shadows playing on the walls of the cave as the others light their candles and take their places.

Your journey begins.

Follow the path that weaves through the tunnels of the cave. It is cool, damp and dark. Listen and hear faint echo of water off in the distance. The glowing candles bob up and down as you make your way along the narrow path against the rock walls. Within minutes you are at the entrance of the Amethyst Chamber. Please enter. The temperature is even cooler on your skin. You see there are beautiful velvet chairs against the Amethyst walls. Place your candle on the wooden table in the center of the chamber then take a seat in one of the chairs. As you settle into your chair, you sense a  loving atmosphere in the room. This is a wonderful quality of Amethyst. The candles glow from the center and light up the deep purple angular protrusions of Amethyst Crystals.

 The Amethyst's subtle vibrational field begins to penetrate every cell of your being. You feel peaceful and calm, relaxed, enchanted and joyful. You feel uplifted and sense you can accomplish everything and anything you heart desires. Breath in the glorious energy that fills the room and delight in the experience of being in the presence of such wonderful people and the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful energy of the Amethyst Chamber.


Bask and bathe and continue to breathe as you bathe in the atmosphere.  Notice how your body and mind are relaxed.  Close your eyes now and continue to enjoy the comfort of the Amethyst Chamber, the soft velvet chairs and the loving atmosphere. There comes to you a wonderful feeling of fullness in the center of your forehead. Amethyst is the finest crystal for opening your Third Eye. Allow your forehead to relax and open. Allow yourself to receive the gift of knowledge. Suddenly there are profound and creative ideas coming forth in your mind. The more you relax the more is revealed to you. You instantly know all about the amethyst and how to use the crystal for self-care and healing.  You see a tall man enter the chamber. You intuitively know to rise from your chair and extend your hand to the man to direct to the front of the chamber. You ask him to lie on a table situated against the  wall. This man has a painful case of shingles located in both eyes. You know to select a smooth oblong amethyst stone from a golden tray holding an array of different stones and place the cool, smooth stone gently on his forehead between his eyes. The man heaves a deep sigh and you see the look of relief and appreciation on his face. You become fully aware of the healing powers of Amethyst and the power of caring and assisting others in a healing atmosphere.
You sense a lasting relationship beginning with the beautiful Amethyst. Take a moment to blissfully savor your Eternal connection.

You have learned a valuable method of balancing and alleviating pain. You feel empowered and capable.  The time has come to return to the lobby. Rise to your feet and take your candle from the wooden table in the center of the room. Everyone follows carefully along the path that weaves back through The Crystal Cave to the meeting room. There is a reverent silence that fills the hallways as you and your new companions  reflect on your extraordinary experience. In minutes you are in the lobby. The sunshine and particles of dust stream through the opening at the entrance of the cave. Everyone extinguishes their candles near the rocky wall at the hearth in the meeting room. Please take your candle with you. The smell of smoke and hot wax fill the air. There is laughter and chatter. Everyone exchanges smiles and uplifting farewells. You feel rested, enlightened and eager to return home.  When you get home you may light your candle to set the mood for your meditations and self care. The candle is a remembrance of this special experience and the healing knowledge of the essence and qualities of Amethyst.







My Personal Experience Learning Meditation



When I was introduced to meditation, I had no idea how instrumental it would be in healing my my mind, my body and my life. There came a time in my late 30's when I needed to quiet my thoughts. My head was so busy it was hard to relax or sit still. I could only enjoy magazines with pictures because I couldn't even focus long enough to read. I began meditation with a group that practiced 5 minutes of silent meditation. The silence and stillness was very uncomfortable at first. Slowly and steadily, I began to look forward to the meditations. They brought me much relief in calming my mind and relaxing my body. I was even able to memorize The Lord's Prayer " Lord make me a channel of they peace...". I was able to  recite it for the group before our 5 minute meditation.




I heard of  a special meditation group that met in a small building on the beach. This group had a silent meditation for 20 minutes! The longer meditation added a whole new dimension to my practice. I was able to reach a new level of deep relaxation. It was this practice that sparked my interest and inspired me to begin seeking a spiritual path.

I later attended a meditation class open to the public at the Hsi Lai Temple in Hacienda Heights, CA. I went all by myself and entered a small room with fellow participants and the monks. We were guided to breathe deeply and slowly and on the exhale we would count from 10 down to one equaling 10 breaths. We were instructed to stop if our minds wandered and begin all over again. I was nervous at first but after practicing a few minutes I began to relax and enjoy the experience. The session began with 3 distinct chimes and ended with them.  I had some deeply profound thoughts, creative visions and experiences during this time. It is different for everyone but the benefits of relaxation is one most of us experience.




I remember how stiff and tense and confused I was before I was introduced to meditation. Counseling is helpful but meditation was key in opening my limited thinking and stressed out mind. I see the world now as having endless possibilities. I found out what I actually enjoyed doing. I grew to love many activities such as Tai Chi. I changed from being a dressmaker and became a Fitness Specialist as a Tai Chi Instructor. I utilized meditation in the beginning of my classes to relax my students minds and bodies. Meditation actually allows us to experience who we really are and opens our mind to creative ideas in every area of life.





ENERGY BALL MEDITATION


  This exercise is so effective with the hands held at the heart level. Science knows the heart's electromagnet energy field extends beyond the body. As we become more aware of our body we are able to tune in to the sensations of energy. It is felt differently by everyone.


New to Energy?

One way to begin feeling the energy is to concentrate on your fingertips for a few moments. Notice what happens after a minute. Can you feel a sensation? It my be a numbing feeling or warmth or tingling or pulsing. This is your energy ! It has been there all the time. Focusing on anything activates your awareness of the energy. This skill can be useful in self-care and healing your body.




Hold your hands, palms facing each other, about 4 inches apart at the level of your heart and about 9 inches from your body. Wait a moment and feel your way into the energy that increasingly collects between your hands. Now gently move your hands farther apart then bring them closer, palms facing. Change the distance between them somewhat while you do this.  Feel how the power continues to grow. Feel the sensation of energy or "something" there when you move your hands a bit closer to each other.   Keep your fingers and hands relaxed. Have fun with this practice.
