Learn Chair Flow Yoga

Time is precious we think. How about our body and mind? Is that as precious to us as time?

In these days of great change we may be active rushing from appointments, work, school, and home to dinner. Once fed and comfy we may have a hard time with stiffness getting off the couch at night to get a snack. We go to bed and may have thoughts racing faster than our sleep can take hold of us. The thoughts may win and we toss and turn.

Getting dressed changes over the years. Pants and underwear seem to take a bit more effort in stretching to reach the leg holes. Our breathing is squeezed and tight as we bend forward to put on our socks. Putting on our shoes may require a bit more struggle to reach the laces.

 How we feel during these simple and necessary daily routines are great indicators of our wellness and well-being.


Lube and tune your body and mind

If you feel you would like to lubricate your joints, take in more healing oxygen, and gain more mobility then I have the answer for you and me. Chair Flow Yoga by John Wylie. It is easy and fun and complete. I did the first 20 minutes which was head, neck and some shoulders. I vowed to do the next 20 minutes the next day and had so much enjoyment doing the video I finished the next 40 minutes. My body felt great and more alive. I fed my body with oxygen and allowed the oxygen to flow into each and every muscle as I breathed in and out, moved, and stretched.

No need to overdo or over stretch. This is a program you can easily progress as you practice.

Bookmark this video so you can practice these wonderful movements. Give yourself time to adjust to moving the muscles that may be stiff. This discourages many people. With repetition and care not to go overboard, you can have a wonderful experience.

The Train Of Life Author Unknown

Gregg Braden had this on his Facebook Page and I would like to share it with you. The opening paragraph is from him and the beautiful analogy of life " The Train of Life " continues on.

changes of routes... And with accidents! At birth we boarded the train and met our parents, and we believe they will always travel on our side. However, at some station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone.
"As time goes by, other people will board the train; and they
will be significant I.e. Our siblings, friends, children, and even the
love of our life. Many will step down and leave a permanent vacuum. Others will go so unnoticed that we don't realize that they vacated their seats! Which is very sad when you think about it.
"This train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, goodbyes, and farewells. Success consists of having a good relationship with all the passengers... requiring that we give the best of ourselves.

Quick and Easy Relief for Knee Pain or Stiffness

QUICK ENERGY BALANCE



Caution. This is for use on family or friends only. Massage Boards are very strict about manipulating the skin in any way you would need a massage license to use this on clients. Check your states laws if you plan to use this on clients. Be very gentle and aware of recipients reactions so you can adjust pressure.

Have partner lie face down on the floor(on a pad or blanket) or table. ( You need both sides free and open to work ) Watch Video below

  1. Place one hand feather light on the end of spine near the tailbone and the other at the base of the neck on the spine. Relax receiver and yourself. Relax your shoulders and feel the body of your partner with you.  Ask partner to take a deep breath or two to create a peaceful and calm mental level.
  2. Sacral Rock: with hands remaining in position and rock This is best done on a little padding I think.
  3. Bend over partner and place lower arms on back and pull on the diagonal across back
  4. Belt Flow: pull up on waist and across lower back and down opposite leg several times on both sides
  5. Spinal Flush massage 1 " away from spine ( caution never press on bone, spine) 1" away from spine beginning at base of neck and continuing down the spine to the waist and then gently push with heels of hands on either side of the spine towards the buttocks or sacral area
  6. Sweep energy off arms and legs
  7. Figure 8's: begin at the base of the spine and make small or large figure eights with a flat hand working towards the base of the neck. (You are knitting and weaving the energies together )
  8. Have your partner turn over
  9. Hook Up: place middle finger in belly button and the other on the third eye and gently push the skin or area upward along the center channel and hold. Wait for recipient to take a deep involuntary breath before releasing.
  10. Belt Flow: same as # 4 if partner has a big belly pull up on side at the waist then pull across (under) the belly and down the opposite leg. Key for large belly is to move under the belly.
  11. Sweep energy off arms and legs.
  12. Extra goodie begin at the back of head at the two large bones and massage the back of the head to the ears.
  13. Extra goodie #2 Smooth the forehead down to the temples
